The Barry Manilow Benefit Concert Monday in the Rose Garden was an amazing success. We've raised approximately $400,000 so far, and funds are still coming our way from merchandise sales, the auction of a trip to see Barry in Las Vegas, and general contributions from fans in the arena. Here are some of the key facts:
Total Attendance at the Concert: 9,007 Attendance at the VIP Dinner and Reception: 100 Number of Media, Business, Corporate and other Sponsors: 100 + Number of CFF Volunteers thanking crowds in the Arena: 80 + Dollars raised to date: $400,000
Barry closed the concert appropriately by dedicating "One Voice" to Harvey Platt, who single-handedly brought this event to Portland. We at the Foundation are ever so grateful to Harvey, Barry, Barry's terrific management team, and all of our sponsors for making this miracle happen. The energy in the arena was electric, the show was brilliant, and the spirit of hope and celebration was profound. What a way to kick off the new year!
To all the heroes in the audience, on stage, and behind the scenes: this one's for you!
